除夕夜

Dear Diary,

Today is the eve of the Spring Festival, also known as Chinese New Year. The air is filled with excitement and anticipation. I spent the afternoon helping my mom prepare the traditional Chinese dishes for the feast. The kitchen was bustling with activity, and the aroma of dumplings and fish filled the house.

As the sun set, we lit the red lanterns and set off fireworks to welcome the new year. The sky was painted with vibrant colors, and the sound of crackers echoed through the neighborhood. My family gathered around the table, sharing stories and laughter.

The highlight of the evening was the "Lucky Money" tradition. My aunts and uncles handed out red envelopes filled with money to us kids, wishing us a prosperous new year. I felt a warm sense of belonging and happiness.

As I look out the window, the stars twinkled brightly, and the city was adorned with colorful lights. It's a magical night, and I can't wait to see what the new year will bring.

Goodnight, Diary.
